Georgia wide receiver and NFL Draft prospect Zachariah Branch was arrested early Sunday morning on two misdemeanor obstruction charges, according to the Athens-Clarke County arrest log. The 22-year-old faces charges of obstructing public sidewalks and obstructing a law enforcement officer.

Branch was booked at 1:26 a.m. and released at 3:44 a.m. after posting a $39 bond. He was in Athens for the University of Georgia's spring football game on Saturday. According to the police report obtained by NFL Network, Branch allegedly failed to comply with multiple verbal commands from an officer to move from blocking a public sidewalk, smirking before being placed under arrest.

The NFL Draft begins this Thursday. Branch, who transferred from USC, is projected to be a Day 2 selection in a draft class considered deep at the wide receiver position. He set Georgia's single-season reception record last year with 81 catches for 811 yards and six touchdowns.

Known for his speed, Branch ran a 4.36-second 40-yard dash at the NFL Scouting Combine. His arrest comes just days before the draft, where his status is now a topic of discussion among teams.
