Rory McIlroy has etched his name into golfing history by winning the Masters Tournament for the second year in a row. He secured a dramatic one-stroke victory at Augusta National, joining an exclusive club of just four players to win consecutive green jackets, alongside legends Jack Nicklaus, Nick Faldo, and Tiger Woods.

The final round was a tense battle. McIlroy, who had lost a six-stroke lead on Saturday, found himself trailing early on Sunday. However, he staged a remarkable comeback, highlighted by a clutch birdie on the treacherous par-3 12th hole. His approach shot landed within seven feet of the pin, the closest of the day, and he sank the putt to take a decisive two-shot lead.

Despite a nervous moment on the 18th hole where his tee shot sailed into the woods, McIlroy managed to salvage a bogey to finish at 12-under par. World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler, who started the weekend twelve strokes back, mounted a late charge but fell just one shot short, finishing at 11-under.

This victory marks McIlroy's sixth career major championship. In his emotional post-round comments, McIlroy expressed disbelief and joy at repeating his Masters triumph, dedicating the win to his family. He stated his ambition to continue adding to his major tally, cementing his legacy as one of golf's all-time greats.
