Fresh off winning its first NCAA national championship, the UCLA women's basketball program has set a new WNBA Draft record. A total of six Bruins were selected in Monday's draft, the most ever from a single school in one year.

Five of those selections came in the first round, which also set a WNBA Draft record. Two-time All-American and Final Four Most Outstanding Player Lauren Betts led the way, being chosen fourth overall by the Washington Mystics.

Her selection sparked a run of three consecutive UCLA picks. Teammate Angela Dugalić joined Betts in Washington at No. 9. Gabriela Jaquez, Kiki Rice, Gianna Kneepkens, and Charlisse Leger-Walker rounded out the historic group of draftees.

This draft success comes just eight days after UCLA capped a dominant 37-1 season by defeating South Carolina to win the national title. The six seniors drafted were the core of that championship team, scoring all 130 of UCLA's points in the Final Four and championship game victories.
