Kent Anderson's double-overtime goal propelled the University of Denver past Michigan, ending the Wolverines' hopes for a second national title within a week. The defenseman fired home a pass from Eric Jamieson at the 7:25 mark of the second extra period.

Denver will face Wisconsin for the national championship on Saturday. The Badgers advanced by defeating North Dakota 2-1. Denver seeks its 11th men's hockey title, which would extend its NCAA record.

Goaltender Johnny Hicks was stellar for Denver, making 49 saves, including 13 in double overtime. Michigan had taken a late third-period lead, but Denver's Clarke Caswell tied the game with 2:46 left in regulation to force overtime.

The loss extends Michigan's national title drought in hockey to 28 years. Wisconsin last won the championship in 2006. Denver, the 2024 champion, can win its sixth title in 22 years with a victory on Saturday.
