Robert MacIntyre is facing significant backlash for his conduct during the first round of the Masters Tournament at Augusta National.

During Thursday's play, MacIntyre's second shot on the 15th hole found the water. After his subsequent shot also landed in the water, he made an obscene gesture with his middle finger—an action strictly prohibited at the prestigious club. Later, on the 17th hole, he slammed his club into the ground in frustration.

The Scottish golfer, currently ranked eighth in the world, carded a quadruple-bogey 9 on the 15th and finished the round at 8-over par, putting him in danger of missing the cut. While known for a competitive temper, such behavior is heavily frowned upon at Augusta, with speculation he may face a formal reprimand from tournament officials.
