The United States mixed doubles curling pair of Cory Thiesse and Korey Dropkin have made history with a perfect 4-0 start at the 2026 Milan Cortina Olympics, the best opening in U.S. curling history.
On Friday, they secured two crucial wins. First, they edged out Canada's Brett Gallant and Jocelyn Peterman 7-5 in a tense match. After a close battle, a decisive three-point seventh end by Dropkin secured the victory, witnessed by celebrity fan Snoop Dogg in the stands.
Later, the American duo dominated Czechia's Vít Chabičovský and Julie Zelingrová with a commanding 8-1 win, forcing an early concession after six ends.
This 4-0 record surpasses the performance of any previous U.S. curling team—men's, women's, or mixed doubles—since the sport's Olympic debut in 1998. It also exceeds the total wins of U.S. mixed doubles teams from the 2018 and 2022 Games.
Thiesse and Dropkin continue round-robin play on Saturday, facing undefeated Great Britain and winless South Korea.
