Athletes participating in the landmark UFC event scheduled for June at the White House now have an added financial incentive. During the broadcast of UFC 327, the promotion revealed that an additional $1 million will be distributed as post-fight bonuses for the historic card.
Sponsorship and Distribution
According to UFC commentator Jon Anik, these extra funds are being provided to commemorate the 10th anniversary of Crypto.com, a major sponsor of the promotion. The organization has the flexibility to award the entire million-dollar sum to a single standout performer or distribute it across multiple athletes based on their performance throughout the night.
Evolution of Bonus Compensation
The standard UFC performance bonuses remained at $50,000 for a decade, starting in 2014. Earlier this year, this figure was increased to $100,000 following the implementation of the company's $7.7 billion broadcast agreement with Paramount. Before the 2014 standardization, bonus amounts fluctuated, occasionally reaching as high as $75,000.
While UFC CEO Dana White has occasionally authorized one-time increases—such as the $300,000 awards at UFC 300—he has historically been reluctant to permanently raise base bonus payouts. Following a card in July 2024 that resulted in many decisions, White expressed frustration, stating he would resist further pressure to inflate bonuses for single events.
Event Details and Lineup
UFC Freedom 250 is scheduled for June 14 on the South Lawn of the White House in Washington, D.C. The event features two major title clashes: Ilia Topuria faces interim champion Justin Gaethje for the lightweight title, and Alex Pereira battles Ciryl Gane for the interim heavyweight belt. Following his recent victory at UFC 327, Josh Hokit has also been added to the card to face Derrick Lewis.
