A Sudden Health Scare
Simone Biles, the seven-time Olympic gold medalist, recently shared a concerning health update with her followers on Instagram. The gymnastics superstar revealed that she was admitted to the hospital earlier this week following an unexpected and severe health incident.
While Biles chose not to disclose the specific medical reasons behind her condition, she characterized the event as a brush with death, stating: «Almost dying wasn't on my bingo card.»
A Challenging Experience
Reflecting on the intensity of the situation, the 29-year-old athlete admitted that the experience was among the most terrifying of her life. The difficulty of the situation was compounded by the fact that her husband, NFL player Jonathan Owens, was away in Indianapolis for team practices at the time. Owens, who plays as a safety, recently joined the Colts on a one-year contract.
Focus on Recovery
Biles noted that she has spent the past several days resting in bed as she prioritizes her recovery. While she has not yet provided clarity regarding the cause of her hospitalization, she promised her fans that she intends to share the full story in the future. For now, she is focused on healing, having shared a photo from her home showing her resting in bed accompanied by her dogs, with the caption: «I'll be here.»
Looking Ahead
Following a highly successful performance at the 2024 Paris Olympics, where she secured four medals, fans have been speculating about her future in the sport. Although she is currently focused on her health, Biles has not officially ruled out the possibility of competing in the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles.
