Weather Disrupts NASCAR Weekend in Charlotte
The NASCAR event at Charlotte Motor Speedway continues to face significant setbacks due to inclement weather. The weekend has been heavily impacted by persistent rain, which has brought all on-track activities to a halt. Previously, practice and qualifying sessions for secondary divisions were scrapped, and the Truck series race has already faced two separate postponements.
Coca-Cola 600 Qualifying Canceled
Organizers have confirmed that qualifying for the 67th running of the Coca-Cola 600 has been officially canceled. Earlier, drivers did manage to complete a 45-minute practice session before the misting conditions worsened. During this session, Ricky Stenhouse Jr. set the fastest time.
As a result of the cancellation, the starting order will be determined by the rulebook. Championship leader Tyler Reddick is set to lead the field to the green flag, starting alongside Ty Gibbs on the front row.
Starting Grid Highlights
The remainder of the top five features Shane van Gisbergen in third, Michael McDowell in fourth, and Chase Briscoe in fifth. They are followed by Ryan Blaney, Chris Buescher, Austin Cindric, Austin Dillon, and AJ Allmendinger, who round out the top ten.
Notably, Katherine Legge, who is currently attempting the historic 'Double' after qualifying for the Indianapolis 500, is slated to start 37th in the Coca-Cola 600.
«All 39 entries will start the race, despite the disruptions caused by the rain at Charlotte Motor Speedway.»
While the NASCAR community navigates these delays, the atmosphere remains somber as the garage pays tribute to the late champion Kyle Busch, whose No. 8 remains prominently displayed on the track's scoring pylon.
