Legal Resolution for L'Jarius Sneed
Former Tennessee Titans cornerback L'Jarius Sneed has officially seen all criminal charges stemming from a 2024 shooting incident dropped. According to reports from Adam Schefter, the resolution leaves the player cleared of the accusations, noting that Sneed is now
“without conviction or admission of any kind.”
Following this legal outcome, it is anticipated that Sneed will not face further disciplinary action from the NFL, which could prove pivotal as he navigates his status as a free agent.
Background of the Investigation
The legal scrutiny began following an event in December 2024, where two individuals, Christian Nshimiyimana and Avi Ahmed, alleged that shots were fired at them from a vehicle. Investigators noted that Sneed was seen entering a car at a gas station and dealership where the two men were also present.
While surveillance footage captured Sneed getting into the vehicle, the car was later observed passing the dealership, at which point shots were reportedly fired toward the victims. Although no physical injuries were reported, the gunfire resulted in property damage to a building and a vehicle. Initially, detectives and witnesses identified Sneed as being inside the vehicle during the event. While he was first hit with an aggravated assault charge, it was later downgraded to a misdemeanor for failing to report a felony.
Career Impact and Status
At the time of the incident, Sneed was on the Titans' injured reserve list. His time with the franchise was heavily impacted by health setbacks; he appeared in only five games during the 2024 season. Although he remained with the roster for the 2025 campaign, injuries limited his participation to just seven games. The Titans released Sneed in March, and he remains available to sign with a new team as a free agent.
