Star center Brittney Griner is reportedly finalizing a seven-figure contract with the Connecticut Sun, according to multiple media outlets. This move marks her departure from the Atlanta Dream after a single season.

Griner, a nine-time All-Star, spent the first 11 years of her career with the Phoenix Mercury, winning a championship in 2014. She brings a veteran presence to a young Connecticut roster, following the team's recent loss of veteran player Marina Mabrey.

In her season with Atlanta, Griner averaged 9.8 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 1.2 blocks per game. Her move coincides with the Sun's planned relocation to her hometown of Houston for the 2027 season.
