The Detroit Pistons have bolstered their roster ahead of the NBA playoffs by completing a three-team trade with the Chicago Bulls and Minnesota Timberwolves. Detroit acquired guards Kevin Huerter and Dario Šarić.
In return, the Chicago Bulls will receive veteran point guard Mike Conley from the Timberwolves and young guard Jaden Ivey from the Pistons, as reported by ESPN's Shams Charania. This trade strengthens the Pistons, who lead the Eastern Conference.
Minnesota, which did not acquire a player, may have made the move for financial flexibility, shedding Conley's $10 million salary. This could allow them to pursue future targets like Giannis Antetokounmpo, per reports.
For Chicago, the deal represents a chance to develop Ivey, a former top-5 pick. Conley, on an expiring contract, provides an experienced option or a potential trade asset before the deadline. The Bulls subsequently traded center Nikola Vucevic to Boston.
