Pro Football Hall of Fame quarterback Sonny Jurgensen has died at the age of 91.

A statement from the Jurgensen family, shared by the Washington Commanders, expressed profound sadness at the loss of their husband, father, and grandfather. The family noted his legendary on-field accomplishments, marked by a 'golden arm' and fearless spirit, and remembered him as the steady, humorous, and loving heart of their family.

Jurgensen's prolific 18-season NFL career earned him a bust in Canton, a place on the NFL's 1960s All-Decade Team, and five Pro Bowl selections. He won an NFL championship with the Philadelphia Eagles in 1960 before concluding his storied career in Washington.
