The Cleveland Browns have reportedly acquired offensive tackle Tytus Howard from the Houston Texans in a trade. According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, the Browns immediately signed Howard to a three-year contract extension worth $63 million.

In exchange for the 29-year-old veteran, the Texans will receive a fifth-round draft pick. Howard, a former first-round pick, has started 93 games over his seven-year career and was named to the Pro Football Writers of America All-Rookie Team in his first season.

The move aims to strengthen the Browns' offensive line, which allowed 51 sacks in 2025. With a young quarterback likely starting in 2026, Cleveland is investing in protection. Howard, while ranking 58th among tackles by Pro Football Focus metrics last season, did not allow a single sack.
