Heading into the match, the pressure was on Texas Tech to force a deciding Game 3. However, they were unable to overcome the momentum of the Longhorns, ultimately falling 2-1. Texas showcased defensive resilience and timely execution, preventing any chance of an upset by the Red Raiders.
Teagan Kavan Seals the Victory
The deciding moments of the game were anchored by pitcher Teagan Kavan. Entering the seventh inning with a narrow three-run lead, Kavan proved to be untouchable. She systematically retired the Red Raiders in order, silencing their offense and officially clinching the championship for Texas.
Following her stellar performance, Kavan received high individual honors for the second year in a row, being named the WCWS Most Outstanding Player. Her composure on the mound was instrumental in helping the Longhorns maintain their status at the top of the sport.
