The U.S. mixed doubles curling pair of Cory Thiesse and Kory Dropkin lost their first match of the Olympic tournament on Saturday, falling 6-4 to Great Britain's Jennifer Dodds and Bruce Mouat.

Thiesse and Dropkin started the day with a perfect 4-0 record. Great Britain, however, entered the match at 5-0 after a morning win over Canada. The Americans fell behind 2-0 early and trailed 4-1 halfway through. They managed a strong comeback in the fifth end, scoring three points to tie the match at 4-4.

The British duo, three-time world champions, retook the lead in the sixth end and held on for the victory. With this win, Great Britain improved to 7-0 and secured a spot in Monday's semifinals. The U.S. team's record is now 4-1, placing them second in the standings. The top four teams advance to the semifinals.

The Americans will face Korea later Saturday, followed by matches against Estonia and Sweden on Sunday. Both the U.S. and Great Britain are seeking their first-ever Olympic medal in mixed doubles curling.
