A Division II basketball game between Tuskegee University and Morehouse College ended with Tuskegee coach Benjy Taylor being escorted off the court in handcuffs. Videos show Taylor confronting a security officer about Morehouse football players entering the postgame handshake line, leading to his detainment.

Taylor stated he was "at a loss for words" and was simply trying to get the football team, who were "yelling obscenities," out of the line, calling it a "very dangerous situation." Tuskegee athletic director Reginald Ruffin described the football players' presence as a "security breach" and said Taylor's request for their removal was reasonable.

The security officer's account claimed Taylor was "very aggressive," which Ruffin disputes. Taylor was released without charges and traveled home with the team.

Taylor has now hired civil rights attorney Harry Daniels to pursue a possible lawsuit. Daniels stated Taylor was detained after asking officers to enforce security protocols by removing aggressively acting football players from the court. They are investigating "all legal avenues."
