Extended Recovery Timeline for Curry

Stephen Curry's return to the court will be pushed back until at least next week, according to an update provided by the Golden State Warriors. As the regular season approaches its conclusion, head coach Steve Kerr expressed concern regarding the limited time available to reintegrate the superstar into the rotation before the postseason begins.

Injury Status and Re-evaluation

Curry has been sidelined for nearly two months due to a combination of bone bruising and patella-femoral pain syndrome in his right knee. Although the team reported that the guard has been cleared to begin participating in team practices and live-action drills, he was not ready to engage in full-contact scrimmaging. Consequently, the organization plans to re-evaluate his condition early next week.

Following his absence from Friday's victory over the Washington Wizards, Curry is officially ruled out for Sunday's road game against the Denver Nuggets. This will mark his 25th consecutive missed game since he initially sustained the injury against the Detroit Pistons on January 30.

The Challenges Ahead for the Warriors

With only seven games remaining in the regular season after Sunday, time is running out. Regarding the urgency of the situation, Steve Kerr stated:

«We’re not bringing him back [only] for the play-in game. He’d need to play some games. We need to give him a runway if this is going to work. And we are running out of games.»

Struggling Toward the Postseason

The Warriors currently hold the final play-in tournament spot in the Western Conference with a 36-38 record. The team is dealing with a depleted roster, as players like Jimmy Butler and Moses Moody have already been ruled out for the remainder of the season. With the current standing, the team is fighting to improve its position in the play-in rankings, but the path to a deep playoff run appears increasingly difficult given the upcoming potential matchups against high-seeded opponents like the Oklahoma City Thunder or the San Antonio Spurs.
