Following Indiana's Senior Day victory over Minnesota, guard Lamar Wilkerson had a special surprise for his mother. He used his Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) earnings to purchase her a Cadillac Escalade.
Wilkerson presented the gift after IU's dominant 77-47 win at Assembly Hall. The vehicle, adorned with a bow, awaited her in a parking garage, capturing an emotional reaction.
The gesture capped a significant night for Wilkerson, who contributed 16 points in the win as the Hoosiers improved to 18-12. This act continues a pattern of generosity; he previously made a six-figure donation to his former school, Sam Houston State, upon transferring.
"I did it out of love," Wilkerson said regarding his donation, expressing gratitude to the program that developed him. The standout guard, who averaged 20.8 points last season, is now preparing with Indiana for the regular-season finale and the upcoming Big Ten Tournament.
